Nerdy and the Greek is a fundraising event in the form of the second annual nerd auction at Washington State University, with the proceeds supporting an endowment which provides scholarships for women in computer science. Each sorority involved is also raising funds for their philanthropies, which you may read about on their respective pages.
Six brave nerds will be handed over to sorority women for complete makeovers, including new clothes, haircuts, and anything else needed. And then the nerds go up on the auction block.
The auction will take place on November 18th. Don't miss your chance to take home your very own nerd, coming up very soon.
Highlights of the auction
So here's the scoop. I intended to put in a lot more work editing this video and making it more professional and a little shorter. It didn't happen, so I'm posting what I've got so you can show your family over break. I expect to hear stories about cackling family members in January ;-)
Musical performances from the auction

The show was amazing
Submitted by Ben Ford on Mon, 11/24/2008 - 23:05As a matter of fact, it was so amazing that we're still recovering from it! Things started off slowly. We planned for time to rehearse, but it didn't work out that way. Once we got going though, we had a lot of fun with it. Brian did Pilates on stage, Kevin sang and danced. Sarah was our top bid at $1,000.
Yes, you read that right.
Overall, we brought in about $2,400 and a recurring $1,200 per year contribution. I think we made out all right.
I hope to have the video posted tomorrow, and you can witness some of these exploits yourself.
UPDATE: Windows media files are even more of a pain than previously suspected. After break. Sorry.
