Nerdy and the Greek is a fundraising event in the form of the third annual nerd auction at Washington State University, with the proceeds supporting an endowment which provides scholarships for women in computer science. Each sorority involved is also raising funds for their philanthropies, which you may read about on their respective pages.

Six brave nerds will be handed over to sorority women for complete makeovers, including new clothes, haircuts, and anything else needed. And then the nerds go up on the auction block.

Don't miss your chance to take home your very own nerd, coming up very soon. The auction date will be announced shortly.

Thanks to everyone who applied, and if you're one of those who didn't apply in time, well... you probably should've read one of the dozen emails we sent out.

Are you a massive nerd?

Then you need to submit a nerd application and get yourself up on the block, posthaste!

Don't care what we have to say, and just want to apply? Then click here to start your application now!

Before you lose interest: by applying for Nerdy and the Greek there is a very good chance that you will get free clothes, a free expensive hair-cut, free awesome new friends, free fashion advice, a dream date and a bunch of other FREE stuff! Free!

Do we have your attention now? Okay, good.

Ladies and gentlemen, you're looking at a golden opportunity, for fun, new friends, new stuff, and the experience of a lifetime! Okay, maybe not a lifetime, since that would be kind of sad, but certainly the experience of a few months or so!

It's an awesome and unique time, and you'll walk away from it a new person -- with a snazzy haircut, and new clothes that aren't polos from Wal-Mart or snarky t-shirts from Jinx.

And don't forget that date with your highest bidder Who knows, maybe you'll end up with that tall, dark and sexy up in the front row that also loves Dungeons and dragons; maybe you'll raise a thousand dollars for charity, or how about a date with the kid of a bona fide rock star?

(If you were wondering: yeah, those all really happened.)

In any case, you'll have a blast. We can guarantee that you're going to love the events that we've got lined up; and with the camera crew following you around, you can pretend like you're a big time celebrity for a few days. Until you realize that it's just one guy with a handycam. But still, you can pretend.

So this is what you gotta do. Click that register link there to the left and make an account. Once you're all logged in and set up, you'll notice a new link under your username on the left that says 'Submit Nerd Application.' Just click that link and tell us all about why you should be selected.

I want to have the nerds selected by Friday, November 20th, so don't delay!

But hey! You don't have to take my word for it, just look around the site, check out the old interview videos, pictures of the event, the video of the full auction below, and see for yourself just awesome this is. And then send in your application.

Get started on your Nerd application now!

Application Deadline Extended!

Submitted by Kevin on Mon, 10/26/2009 - 14:42

So, due to some technical issues that were no one's fault (*cough*Ben*cough*), there was an issue where people who had applied to Nerdy and the Greek last year were unable to re-apply this year.
