We couldn't have pulled this off without the help of our
sponsors and we'd like everyone to know just how much of a help they were.
With the media spotlight on us, the scale of this event ballooned up
to a point that we were close to being in over our heads. Just when it
seemed like my blood pressure could not rise any higher, Dr. Shirazi
and the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science stepped
in and sponsored student tickets, leaving us free to manage the
logistics of the show.
They have been there for us thoughout the whole roller coaster ride
and have offered us so much help. I'm going to have to say that
Nerdy and the Greek wouldn't have gone off nearly as well as it did
without their tireless work.
These guys are awesome. If you have a minute between classes, stop
by the front office and say thanks. They deserve it.
While hanging flyers across town, we ran into a very
exuberant man by the name of Joe Fairbanks. He's the new owner of
Pete's Bar and Grill, the
home of the famous Wiley Cup.
He was very excited about the event and insisted on sponsoring dinners
for three of the lucky couples. He gave us a lot of great ideas about
running the show.
Fireside Grill is just about my favorite steakhouse
around, so I was pretty stoked to hear that they were going to sponsor
dinners for two of our nerds. Their menu is packed with delicious
meals, so I'd recommend trying them out next time you've got a
hankering for a perfectly cooked steak.
Hilltop Restaurant sponsored dinner for one nerd and his date.
This steak house has an incredible view of the university and
surrounding hills, a romantic vista complemented by linens and
attentive service. Red meat is the specialty, from prime rib and
steaks to Sunday's midday roast-beef family dinner. Homemade desserts
include cheesecakes, mud pie, and chocolate truffles.

Nate, the owner of
Straight Up Fashions was kind enough to let us film the fittings in
the store. We got some great footage and had a great time. The jeans
that the girls bought me here were light and comfortable and fit like
I'd been wearing them for years.
